(SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT POLICIES

The sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages ends at the conclusion of play each day. No alcoholic beverages may be taken in or out of tournament grounds, consumed in parking areas or taken on shuttle buses.

AUTOGRAPH POLICY

Players are permitted to sign autographs only after the completion of their round. If you encounter a player after his round and attempt to seek an autograph: have paper and pen ready (preferably a roller-ball type marker); walk with the player off to one side…do not stand in his way; say “thank you.” Common courtesy means as much to the players as to anyone else.

AUTOMATIC TELLERMACHINE

An automatic teller machine is located in the large “Eagles Nest” public hospitality tent outside the clubhouse. These machines are available for the general public’s use during tournament hours.

CHECK STANDS

Spectators are not allowed to bring these items onto the golf course: radios, televisions, signs, ladders, coolers, tape recorders, weapons, back packs, audible beepers, cellular telephones and any type of camera (although cameras are allowed on the course Monday through Wednesday only). Check stands are located at many gates. These check stands close at approximately 5:30 p.m.

CLUBHOUSE ADMISSION

Only those spectators with clubhouse badges may enter the TPC Southwind clubhouse. These badges are available for purchase at www.stanfordstjude.com. They are also available for purchase at tournament gates. Spectators wishing to purchase credentials after arriving on site during the tournament may do so at the Tournament Headquarters on the lower east side of the clubhouse.

CONCESSION STANDS

Concessions stands are located throughout the course. These stands serve a wide variety of food and beverage products, although not all stands carry all products. Proceeds from the sale of food and beverage items go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

DIRECTIONS TO THE COURSE

The TPC Southwind is located just north of the corner of Winchester Road and Hacks Cross Road in southeast Shelby County. This is just east of the Memphis city limits and south of Germantown, TN’s city limits. Those unfamiliar with Memphis should take Interstate 240 to Bill Morris Pkwy. (Highway 385); take the Parkway east to Winchester. From there, take Winchester east one mile to Hacks Cross Road. For directions to public parking, see Parking below.

FIRST AID

A team of doctors, nurses and paramedics is on duty during the tournament. To receive medical attention while on the golf course, spectators may ask any volunteer carrying a radio for assistance or they may visit one of three locations

  • The hospital trailer located on the east side of the clubhouse, outside the Tournament Office
  • The first aid trailer behind the 13th green
  • The Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept. Rescue Van located to the golfer’s left of the third fairway.

GATE SCHEDULE

The tournament grounds open 7 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. All persons entering tournament grounds are required to enter at one of these locations. Persons are forbidden from simply walking under the boundary ropes. Please keep in mind that ticket sales booths and check stands are not located at every walk-in gate. These are conveniently situated at locations around the property.

INFORMATION BOOTH

The Spectator Information Booth is located near the 18th green. A staff of volunteers is on duty throughout the tournament to answer questions, give directions and provide other assistance. The booth is open until 6 p.m. each day.

INTERNET

The tournament’s site on the World Wide Web is: www.stjudeclassic.com.

MOBILITY-IMPAIRED SPECTATORS

Spectators with disabilities receive free parking, green-side shuttle service and reserved seating at the tournament. Complimentary parking is available at the International Paper Operations Center, located just east of Hacks Cross Rd. and Players Club Pkwy. A specially-equipped shuttle bus will carry mobility-impaired spectators to and from this parking lot and the TPC Southwind clubhouse. Transportation is available from the front of the clubhouse to a reserved area at the 18th green. Volunteers at these locations provide needed assistance. For more information, call the tournament office at (901) 748-0534.

PAIRINGS

Complimentary Daily Pairings Guides for each day’s round are available at many entry gates and at specially-made boxes around the clubhouse.

PARKING

For those attending the St. Jude Classic who have not been issued a special parking permit, the daily-fee parking lot (Lot C) is located on Winchester, two miles east of Hacks Cross Road, across from the entrance toWindyke Country Club. A $5 per vehicle fee is collected at the lot entrance. Season passes for this lot are available for $30 ($25 before April 15th) by calling (901) 748-0534. Season passes for other lots are available in the tournament’s corporate packages. For information on the purchase of these and other tournament products, call (901) 748-0534. Shuttle buses are used to provide fast, efficient transportation to the course from all official off-course parking lots.

PASS-OUTS

Spectators entering the grounds with One-Day tickets will have their tickets validated at the gate. Those wishing to leave the grounds and return later that same day should obtain a pass from the gate guards before leaving.

REST ROOMS

Temporary rest rooms are located at various places throughout the golf course for the convenience of spectators. (Rest rooms in the clubhouse are available for only those spectators with clubhouse badges.)

SCOREBOARDS

Electronic scoreboards are located at key vantage points on the golf course. These panels also provide spectators with scoring for the players on that particular hole as well as other pertinent information (weather delays, sponsor messages, etc.). In addition to these state-of-the-art electronic scoreboards, The PGA TOUR’s largest video board is located at the 18th green. Smaller video boards are located on the 18th fairway and at the 11th green. The official PGA TOUR main scoreboard – listing every golfer’s score for every hole of the competition — is located on the south side of the clubhouse near the putting green.

SOUVENIRS

A full line of tournament souvenirs can be purchased at on-course golf shops. These outlets include the permanent TPC Southwind golf shop in the clubhouse (open to the general public via steps on the west side of the building), and the main outdoor shop in the large tent near the 18th green.

SPECTATOR TIPS

  • Stay behind the gallery ropes, and obey the officials and marshals.
  • Wear your ticket or badge conspicuously at all times.
  • Wear low-heeled sport shoes for your sake and the golf course’s.
  • Walk – don’t run
  • Do not bring ladders, radios, televisions, coolers, cell phones, weapons, back packs, audible beepers or signs to the golf course. Cameras are only allowed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Cameras are forbidden Thursday through Sunday.
  • Please observe silence throughout each shot. Do not move until all contestants in each group have completed their shots.
  • Kneel if you are near the rope so those behind you may see.
  • Give players plenty of room from green to tee. Do not interrupt them for whatever reason during their round.
  • Be cognizant of weather alerts on the electronic scoreboards (see Weather below).

ST. JUDE

The tournament adopted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as its sole beneficiary in 1970. Since then, more than $20 million has been raised by the tournament. The research center was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962. Cure rates for the most common forms of childhood cancers have risen to more than 90 percent.

WEATHER INFORMATION

If officials become aware of the potential for threatening weather conditions, a warning symbol will appear on the electronic scoreboards. When this warning appears, spectators are strongly urged to take precautions and seek shelter. The safest place to be is in a vehicle. Spectators parked at satellite parking lots should take into consideration the time it takes to catch a shuttle bus back to those lots. If the siren sounds suspending play, put down your umbrella and seek shelter immediately. Avoid the following: bleachers, hilltops or high places, open fields, bodies of water, metal or wire fences, tall trees, isolated trees, telephone poles, golf carts, or wearing metal golf shoes.
